5th EUROPE-CHINA FORUM: Looking forward, looking back, Tuesday 30 June 2015 (09.30 – 16.00) Brussels

Friends of Europe and ChinaEU are delighted to invite you to the 5th Europe-China Forum entitled “Looking forward, looking back”, which will be held on Tuesday 30 June in Brussels, just a day after the official 2015 EU-China Summit. The Europe-China Forum, a joint initiative of Friends of Europe and the Chinese Mission to the EU, will provide a unique opportunity to discuss EU-China relations, past, present and future.

UNDER DISCUSSION

We will assess the economic impact of China’s digital transformation, its continuous urbanisation process and synergies between the EU’s investment plan and China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative.

Questions addressed will include:

  • What are the key challenges facing “Digital China”? How do China’s ambitions fit in with Europe’s own efforts to create a more competitive “Digital Europe”?
  • Does China’s service-led economic transformation create new opportunities for EU-China innovation cooperation?
  • What will be the role of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)?
  • What are the details of China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative?
  • How can China and Europe step up cooperation in building smart cities?
