1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files, which are transferred to your computer or mobile when you visit a website or app. The next time you visit this Website with the same terminal device, the cookie and the information in it are either sent back to the originating website (first-party cookie) or to another website to which it belongs (third-party cookie).
Almost every website uses cookie technology. Some cookies are useful as they are able to improve the user experience. Cookies, among other things, speed navigation through a Website, keep track of information so that you do not have to re-enter it each time you visit a Website, help them provide you with customized content and allow them to learn about your visit. However, ChinaEU does not use cookies
2. How We Use Cookies
Some cookies are always on when you visit us, and you can’t turn them off unless you change your browser settings. We call these “strictly necessary cookies”. Our webmaster uses them to make sure our digital services work correctly and are meeting needs and interests of internet users.
We don’t use functional (e.g. remembering if you visited our website before so that messages for new visitors are not displayed to you), performance cookies (to track the number of unique visitors to our Website or information such as the number of views a page gets, how much time a user spends on a page, and other pertinent web statistic) or, a fortiori, advertising cookies. We therefore do not provide you the possibility to switch off such cookies or ask your agreement to use them.
For the sake of clarity, we also don’t use Google Analytics.
3. Social media plug-ins
Our site contains links to social media also known as social plugins (“plugins”). For example, you can share pages from our website by WeChat, Sina Weibo, Reddit, Pinterest, Tumblr or Twitter. These plugins are indicated by the respective logo of the social network. When you access our Website, your browser establishes a direct connection with the servers of these social networks. The content of the plugin is transferred by the social network directly to your browser, which then integrates it into the Website. These platforms may set a cookie on your browser. We have no control over such third-party cookies – you can turn them off, but not through us.
4. How users can disable cookies
For the reasons mentioned above, you cannot change your ChinaEU cookie settings.
